The video game industry is a staple of modern America. The ESRB (Entertainment Soware Rating
Board) which is the governing body over video games ratings conducted a study in 2000; the study
shows 67% of US households play video games. This statistic shows how many homes are a)ected by
video games. In 2009 273 million units of video games were sold, 17% of those games were Mature
rated. That’s 46,410,000 mature rated video games sold thought out the US. But the question is “Do
video games lead to violent behavior?”
The ESRB state that mature video game “content is generally suitable for ages 17 and up and may
contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content and/or strong language.” But as stated before

to progress through the game.
