Video games usually appear on computer with high-speed internet and cell
phones have a lot of video games in recent years as well. Today, video games are
popular among young people. There is an American research study of children who
are 2 to 18 which shows they spend 30 minutes playing video games every day, and
boys who are 8 to 13 spend more than one hour playing video game (“The video
game”, 2009, ¶3). Because of this phenomenon, game companies produce lots of
different kinds of video games for people. According to Wong (2006) , video games
are a very big market for companies which earn 29 billion dollars from sale video
games (as cite in Hastings et al., 2009, ¶2). With the development of video games,
youth pay more attention and time to them. Youth play video games have some
problems which can be solved by parents regulate youth when they play video games,
youth should arrange reasonable time to play games, and youth participate in more
activities.

Research have some arguments which are about whether youth should play
video games or not. On the one hand, some researchers believe that playing video
games is beneficial for youth. Because of the study pressure, video games can lead
youth to feel relaxed. The article claims that video games can provide more
opportunity for youth to communicate with other people in the world and study the
cultures of other countries (Baki, Leng, Ali, Mahmud, & Hamzah, 2008, ¶12). On the
other hand, playing video games causes some problems, such as negatively affecting
ideological development, physiological health, study performance, and emotional
problems. Some violent plots and element are used in many video games. In the
article, Funk claimed that 53% of video games had violent elements (as cited in
Hastings et al., 2009, ¶2). These violent element in the games can lead youth to have
