Chapter 3 Summary
The Palette of King Narmer comes from a place called Hierakonpolis, Egypt. It was
found in 300-2920 BCE. The palette is made out of Slate and stands an inch over two feet tall.
The Palette of King Narmer is well known as the earliest work of historical art that is labeled. On
the palette, there is an image of a large figure, the king, killing an enemy in front of other people.
Both sides of the palette feature King Namer’s name and image. There is a debate between
