Organizational Development within the Veteran Affairs
The establishment of the Veteran’s affairs was to serve the veterans that have
served our country. Veterans have been the main economic concern within the United
States. They had the Presidential candidates institute a National center for Organization
Development (NCOD). “NCOD supports and delivers organizational health services for
the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), including individual and organizational
assessments, organizational consultation and intervention, and supportive services
such as CREW, survey consultation, and business management support [CITATION

that is nationwide.
“Our specific goals are to strengthen VA workforce engagement, satisfaction, and
development in order to improve services to Veterans and their families [CITATION
USD15 \l 1033 ].” As a Veteran Affairs professional, our opportunities are endless. I
would like to be able to share my experiences with you especially if you are associated
with someone that served or my fellow brother and sisters that served in our Armed
Forces.
Being a part of the Veterans Affairs, I can aid our Veterans that haven’t been able

demand[ CITATION Jay14 \l 1033 ].” Employed at the VA Non VA Care Center in Tampa
Florida, as an Medical Support Assistant has been a great start of giving back to the

Veterans. “By involving patients in their treatment plans and processes, they become
allies in their care and can serve as another layer of defense against many safety
issues [ CITATION Jay14 \l 1033 ].”
Personally experiencing the service connected effects of transition out the
military was hard for me, although, having my fellow veterans that serviced helped me
through it. “These errors can result from a number of combined forces, including failure
to order appropriate tests and a lack of patient engagement [ CITATION Jay14 \l 1033 ].”
Developing the ICARE understanding has been my impact of generosity in giving back
to veterans. “The Institute of Medicine has estimated nearly 1.5 million Americans
experience an adverse event due to a medication error each year, costing the health
