The effects of migration, immigration, and emigration on a country trying to
develop can wreak havoc on a country or help a country progress and develop into the future. It
is important to recognize the difference of these three terms. According to our text book, Global
Perspectives, migration, people moving from country to country, have shifted populations
throughout time (Kelleher, p.3). The human race has adapted fairly well in new environments
and cultures. Immigration, people moving state to state, is a concept that has also been around
for centuries. One of the main reasons why immigration occurs is because of economic concerns
in the country. People are generally trying to survive, and going to a region that is prospering
