The painting that I chose form the Cummer Museum was the Second Holiday painted in
1939 by Norman Rockwell. The Second Holiday is an example of one of his illustrations
that told a story. Mr. Rockwell created an illustration for a short story in American magazine
in 1939. When he did this piece, Rockwell was telling a story. This short story took place in
a clinic in Minnesota, where an elderly couple sits in a waiting room. Avoiding eye contact,
the man and woman sit side by side as they appear to be staring into space as their arms link.
