1. After taking the VALS survey, it told me that my primary type was achiever and my
secondary was experiencer. An achiever is a person who participate actively in the market.
The favorite things of achievers are recognition and rewards, peer-group acceptance,
material possessions, and rules following that lead to success. After seeing this I think that
this describes me exactly. All these thinks are true about me. I do value my material
possessions and I like to follow the rules that lead to success. I look for acceptance in my
peer-group and I enjoy recognition and rewards. The site says that an experiencer is a
person that that spends a lot of their income on entertainment and other things. The
favorite things of an experiencer are following social-media, being entertained, being
established, and the ability to purchase. I also agree with this because I do like these things
but following social-media was something that I did not really do until recently. This being
my secondary is also an exact description of me. I selected the attached add because it goes
with my VALS type of buying things, wanting material possessions and being entertained.
The attached add is for 4 new anime shows that are coming out this year. All four of them I
am interested in seeing but might not be able to afford all of them.
2. This snapshot reflects my town exactly. Middlesex is a small town with a majority of
white non-Hispanic people without kids. It’s a small town that where you know someone
you know everyone. People are well connected and it’s a quiet little town. The
segmentation that best describes my family is 13 upward bound. This is a segment that is
middle aged married couples with kids.
