What Being a Teacher Means to Me
There is a canvas on my fifth-grade teacher’s wall that says: “To teach is to touch a life
forever”. Not only did this quote inspire me to be a teacher but so did my fifth-grade teacher.
She really put this quote into perspective for me. This teacher helped me through one of the
hardest times of my life, my parents’ divorce. That year I would walk into class crying and sit at
my desk alone. She would then come over to ask what was wrong. I told her that my dad had
left, and he told me he’d see me soon, but he couldn’t stay with us because mommy didn’t love
