I find it most interesting in this article that the companies finance department actually tries
to pay their bills slow. To me that is an unethical way of operating a business. When
running a business you should pay people on time, when your bill is due whether that be a
30, 60, or 90 day term date. Granted businesses have learned to adapt to these long waits
of being paid and are able to float the receivables until they are delivered. Everyone wants
to celebrate when they do a good job on something especially if its making money so I
don’t blame Leslie and Terry at all for the nice dinner but the Mercedes could have waited
until the check actually came in. I also think it is a good idea to be friends with a banker
for when these types of situations happen. Having a line of credit at the bank is never a bad
thing.
