University Mission Statement/Education Framework
“Franciscan University of Steubenville (FUS) is a coeducational, Catholic institution of
higher education that is fully committed to the intellectual development of students within the
context of a liberal arts program.” The development of the University’s students is their main
priority. Preparing them for the environments of their study, giving them the resources necessary
to excel, and the experience to not only better prepare them intellectually, but paving the way to
understanding and developing the skills necessary to fulfill the requirements for the field, in this
