VIII. Teacher Contract Study
The Oregon City Federation of Teachers contract at first glance is lengthy
and detailed. While comparing it to other contracts though I found that it is not
specific in correlations with administration/staff procedures. The contract has 32
sections, which outline the provisions for the teachers of Oregon City Schools and
the board of education. This contract is written for the benefit of the students in
mind and the success of the educational program. Each teacher has the right to join
the union and pays dues if participating. Administrators in the district are not part
of the union, but do have a say in contractual agreements.
