Growth in New York City’s Unemployment Rate Article
Unemployment was a topic that was discussed towards the beginning of the semester.
And this is the topic that I decided to find an article on. On November 20th, The New
York Times published an article in regards to New York City’s growing unemployment
rate. Patrick McGeehan, the author of this article, explains to readers that the
unemployment rate is at its lowest level in six years even though a number of jobs have
been created. Most of these jobs were in the area of hospitality and leisure. McGeehan
writes that this “includes hotels, restaurants, and attractions that appeal to tourists.”
Considering the fact that New York City is a big tourist destination, it is not surprising
