Uber in Southeast Asia
The article I read was talking about how Uber is officially exiting south Asia, they sell
the regional business to their primary competitors known as Grab and yet Uber will still be
getting 27.5 percent stake in the company. This article is interesting to me because I am planning
to start a new business, and East and Southeast Asia are one of the most important place you
would like to do business since those places are growing fast economically. China and India are
two countries with the largest population in the world, if you have a chance to start a business in
those countries you should do it. You will get a higher return compare to those huge companies
around the world.
The stakeholders in this article are two companies, Uber and Grab. This article is related
to lecture 7 in the book, that talk about the the processes, organizations, and IS. In this chapter
we talked about the competitive strategy what applied precisely to this article. We talked about
the lowest cost across the industry, lowest cost within an industry segment, better product and
service across the industry, and better product and service within an industry. Uber realized that
