1. Is there any reason to think that there is a stable and permanent aspect to
Peter’s personality that is his habitual way of behaving, thinking, and feeling?
Hint: Identify whether there are central traits in Peter that can account for his
behavior.
Our temperament and behavior style helps define our personality. Peter was a
shy child. Peter’s shyness and inhibition may differ as an aspect of autonomic
nervous system reactivity. I think personality can be distinguished from a concept
of temperament. Personality isn’t permanent, it can change. Peter suffers from a
emotional disorder. His personality is unstable and his new personality would be
described as conscientiousness, and agreeable and more neurotic. Our behavior is
influenced by the interactions of our inner disposition with our environment.
