1. I have worked at a 5-star hotel, which was established in 1993. During the Covid-19, the
hotel had to lay off more than 60% of the staff. After the pandemic, the hotel back to the normal
stage of operation. However, the hotel is experienced in human resources problem such as, lack
of manpower because many lay-off employees have found the new jobs and high turn-over from
the exiting demotivated employees due to they fear of insecure of the job. In order to fix that
problem, the hotel needs to provide more suitable training and development for employees. First,
as the hotel needs recruit new employees to fulfill the shortage of man power. Therefore, the
training is particular important for new employees. It can be conducted by some within the hotel
and should serve as a platform to get new employees up to speed with the processes of the
company and address the skill gaps. Second, due to lack of man power, the hotel needs to train
employees to be multi-tasking as well as develop suitable employees to acquire new
management skills set for future growth. It is important for the hotel to break down the training
and development needs to target relevant individuals. If I can draw examples from my
organization, every department has targeted training groups. These generally revolve around
