Need For training:
Training and development has become very crucial in the airlines sector
as the concerns related to safety and comforts of passengers are
executed effectively. All the employees of Indigo Airlines in different
department had received adequate training which helps the airline to
be the best in the global range.
In the airlines sector, the training to employees helps to deliver quality
service. Training also assists the employees for identifying the field of
improvement which assist the staff to gain skills ad attributes for their
future growth.
A training program allows you to strengthen those skills that each
employee needs to improve. A development program brings all
employees to a higher level so they all have similar skills and
knowledge. This helps reduce any weak links within the company who
rely heavily on others to complete basic work tasks.
Methods:
1. Computer Based Training CBT:
CBT Unit of PIA provides backbone support for office automation
training in the corporate area to all the support staff of the corporate
office management. They are specialized in imparting office
productivity software training.
PIA Provides its employees computer-based training facilities of Aircraft
(B-777, A-320, and ATR) and also conduct mandatory / regulatory
training courses for Flight Operation and Engineering Departments.
2. Apprenticeship training:
Apprenticeship training refers to a course of training in any industry or
establishment. Apprenticeship training consists of basic training
(theoretical instructions) and practical on the job training at actual
work place.
Apprentice Training Unit provides apprenticeship training to Apprentice
Mechanics of PIA Engineering & Maintenance Department (for regular
scheme) in accordance with requirements of apprenticeship ordinance
1962 of Government of Pakistan.
