Running head: BUYER’S RIGHTS 1
Abstract
This paper will look at the traditional buyers’ rights and how they are essential for
customer protection, as well as organizational marketing and sustainability. The freedom for
consumers to determine if and when they will make a purchase, the right to a safe product, and
products that perform as they were advertised is a key in developing and maintaining efficient
and successful marketing strategies. These buyers rights are essential in the strategic plan of
consumer advocacy, and the three together create a standard for consumer rights and needs. This
paper will look at the different areas of consumer protection and how they apply to these three
core buyers rights.

Traditional Buyer’s Rights
The world of organizational marketing is very complex and competitive, it is essential
that organizations provide services and products that comply with basic standards ensuring safety
to the consumer market, and also show their level integrity to the public. Basic consumer rights
are respected and embraced by most large and successful companies, which allows the public the
freedom to make their own choices as to which products or services are the best fit for their
needs or lifestyles. The freedom of consumer choice, product safety, and integrity of the product
are the three most important standing factors in regards to the protection of consumers and the
community that will be using products or services. If these basic consumer rights were not in
existence, the market would be overwhelmed by products and services that were of poor quality,
and the market would suffer greatly due to the slump in consumer confidence.
