As we know, China and the United States are the worlds two largest national economies.
Currently, both countries are involved in a major trade war. A trade war is a situation in which
countries try to damage each other’s trade, typically by the imposition of tariffs or quota
restrictions. To be more specific, The United States President, Donald Trump is trying to
damage Chinas trade by the rise of tariffs.
Why would President Trump handle this situation in this manner? According CNBC
News, “President Trump says the U.S will hike tariffs on most imports from China as his trade
war with Beijing escalates. Also, in a series of tweets, the president said he would increase the
pressure on Beijing as part of his long-held goal to force China to change what he calls unfair
trade practices. Trump has fired more shots in the trade war as he seeks a sweeping trade deal
with Beijing – even as the tariffs threaten global economic growth.”
Although these orders have not gone into place yet, if they do many will become
impacted by the rise of tariffs. According to Investopedia,” Advocates say trade wars protect
national interests and provide advantages to domestic businesses. Critics of trade wars claim
