Tower Records was a company that started in the most unusual way and was led by a
group of individuals who turned it into one of the most successful records stores in history for
nearly forty years. The creativity, passion, and style in how they ran their stores, allowed them to
grow and expand all over the world. The culture the leadership team created allowed employees
with a love and passion for music to build an organization in a way that no one had done it
before all while still growing into a top tier company.
Tower Records’ management team created a company that saw tremendous growth and
prosperity for nearly forty years. In the early sixties, Russ Solomon and his team leveraged their
individual strengths in creativity, entrepreneurship, and business acumen to build a successful
company. They created a work hard, play hard environment that welcomed new ideas, rewarded
