①e-book is environmentally-friendly
as we all know， paper is made from wood
generally speaking, a 100-page book is 500 grams of wood
As a result, the more books we read, the more trees will be cut down.
On the contrary, e-books consume no wood.
Reading e-books is a good and easy way to protect the environment.
②e-book is convenient
unlike the paper/printed books, e-book is very easy to carry
we can put many e-books into one digital device, like iPad or Kindle
plus, it is very easy for us to do research
when I was working on a bio paper, there are a lot of proper terms
all I have to do is typing the word into the e-dictionary, and the explanation will come out
2.相对于其他交通工具，Bike 的优势
①good for the environment
of course, the government can dispose air pollution by developing public transportation,
like bus or subway，but those still consumes fossil fuel
compared with that， bike is totally environmentally-friendly
②it is cost-effective
Developing public transportation means the government will have to purchase more vehicles,
build new tunnels, and hire more drivers， which will cost tons of money
a bike is much cheaper than a bus or train, and can be used for a long time, like 10 years
3.政府应该将钱花在保护濒危物种上，还是其他用途
①for the developing countries or areas
it is not appropriate to spend the money on endangered animals protection
because, in those areas, people’s basic needs are hardly satisfied.
like people in some parts of Africa are suffering from unemployment, famine and disease
the No.1 issue/top priority is to solve these problem.
without human, animal preservation would be meaningless
②for the developed countries
the money should be spent on the protection of extinct animals
Because after most of the necessaries have been secured,
the issue of animal extinction becomes more important.
Each creature is an indispensable part of the biological chain,
the drastic decrease of one species will have a negative influence others, including human beings
actually, many natural disasters are caused by the loss of species
some of which are the consequences of human development
for whichever reason， we, human, should take responsibility for it.
关于地点
1.住在哪里好：靠近学校？交通枢纽?
① Living in a place close to school can save me a lot of time
I spent more than two hours commuting back and forth every day.
With this time,I can get more rest and keep myself in high spirits for the whole day study.
②The learning environment in school is better than places near a public transportation station
because there are no distractions, like people talking, various recreations
the quiet and academic atmosphere enables me to concentrate on my studies
③when facing problems， I can do some research in the school library
discuss them with my roommates and turn to my professor for help
2.喜欢去哪购物？
①The “one-stop shopping” concept makes it very convenient
There is a variety of shopping malls, which can almost meet everyone’s needs
Take Z Plaza for example, as a general mall, it has all the things people need.
Clothes, shoes, foods, cosmetics, u name it.
②Besides the shopping, it is a place where there is full of enjoyment.
There are many fantastic restaurants are located.
One of them is called Uncle Lee’s, That is best known for its dumplings
Though it is so common that almost all the Chinese people have eaten it before,
this one, the one in Z Plaza, is the best, because of its special sweet&spicy flavor.
3.你喜欢住在离超市近，public transportation 也 方便， 但是很吵的地方呢，
还是喜欢住在很安静的地方，但是购物不方便的地方
①I used to live a place where there is a big supermarket and lots of bus stations.
Actually, the traffic there is terrible, the noise of engines are always driving me crazy;
plus, the “convenience” of the nearby is also annoying.
In order to attracting more customers and make more profits,
the supermarket beneath my apartment often held promotion activities, like “crazy 24 hours”
people lined up to get the “advantageous positions” at night,
the talking and laughing they rely on to kill the time drives me crazy.
②though people might think it’s inconvenient to buy daily stuff if there’s no markets around
it totally works for me
because I have been shopping online since last year, and I got used to it.
4 小镇 small town
①the environment in small towns is much better
because there are fewer factories ,there is almost no pollution in small towns
trees and flowers are everywhere
both of which lower the pollution and create a better environment
②the consumption standards are much lower
for example, renting an apartment only cost 200 dollars for a month,
with that money, I can hardly afford a bathroom in big cities

①Good for their future
famous professors, advanced technologies and cutting-edged information in university
provide a better learning environment and ensure that students gain quality education
many professors have their own companies or projects, which afford many job opportunities
eg. my brother joined a program that is in charged of his professor
not only did he gain some very valuable guidance from the teacher
but also established a strong relationship with the colleagues off campus
both of which made him competitive when he was looking for a job
②It is much safer living in big cities.
there are over twenty guards patrolling 24-7
The cameras installed in the neighborhood cover everywhere
the alarm will ring when a stranger breaks into the house
that means any criminal activities will be under surveillance and stopped by security
Plus, the structure of the building in big cities is much firmer than the one in small towns
Because buildings in big cities are concrete and all of them are reinforced with huge steel girders
but houses in rural areas, are made of wood mud and grass and built by the owners
For them, it is only a place that shelters them from the wind or the rain.
When the weather goes a little drastic, it is very dangerous.
关于科技
*1.邮件 VS 电话
①It is easier to communicate with others
Unlike the states, the coverage of wifi in public places is still limited
so it is not easy to get access to the internet, which makes it difficult to contact others by email.
with a cellphone, I can call my friends and family any time, any where I want.
②Plus, compare to the words in email
the voice conversation and the tone could help us better express our ideas.
When putting on the earphone and closing the eyes,
I just feel like my friends and family are talking beside me.
*2.Internet
①网购 the internet brings us more convenience
because people who want to go shopping don’t have to walk a long way to make their purchases
If people shop on Ebay or Amazon,
all they have to do is click the mouse, and the item they choose will be sent to their houses soon.
②besides, we can make friends online
because the Internet provides people all over the world with a good platform
to talk to each other and express their ideas,
the same interests could be the conversation starters that bring/link strangers together.
After getting to know each other, we can also talk about something beyond that topic,
during which we can get acquainted/familiar with each other and make a lot of friends
3.电视的弊端
it will affect students’ studies, because their break is very short
in other words, it is not long enough to watch the whole show
students will think about it during class
these distractions will definitely have a negative influence on their study efficiency
关于自己 VS 他人
家具电器、电子设备坏了自己修还是送到店里修
Though some people think it is more economical to fix it by themselves
actually sending it to the technic support center saves more money.
eg. The other day, my laptop broke down. I thought I could fix it all by myself,
so I replace the internal memory with the one from my desktop.
Then when I turned on my laptop, the screen turned blue,
the computer didn’t work no matter what button I pushed.
the problem should have been solved if I sent it to the technic support center at first.
But now, the incompatible part caused damage to my motherboard,
replacing a new one was ten times more money than reinstalling the system
关于旅游
1.旅游只玩 VS 拍照、记日记
I will go traveling without camera or diary, because it will kill the joy of traveling.
When going on trip, especially a long distance one,
we have lots of daily necessaries to carry, like clothes, shampoo, chargers for electric devices.
Packing all the stuff is not only annoying, but adding a lot of unnecessary weight to our bag
carrying something useless would not make any sense.
And digital devises are fairly fragile and expensive
carrying a camera means I will have to keep an eye on it to avoid it being broken or stolen
Either of the scenario will absolutely ruin the mood
With these distractions, how am I supposed to enjoy my trip.
2.去过的地方旅游 VS 没去过的地方旅游
①The meaning of traveling is to visit various places and feel how different they are.
In other words, the joy of a trip is to find out differences.
For example, the scenery in Mountain Tai, a famous mountain in China, is different Mount Fuji
though they are both a pile of rocks.
②It also makes sense when it comes to food.
Noodle is probably the most common food in the world,
zhajiang noodle tastes totally different from udon in Japan.
Taking a look at different sceneries, tasting different types of food
and getting to know different cultures give us unexpected experience
and it is the unexpected experience that creates excitement.
Visiting the same places, in some sense, is just like traveling a long to go to another home.

my professor asked me to read a biology book for the final exam.
Meanwhile, I had a lot of assignments to deal with, so I had no time to read it.
Then I found a listening material of this book, I can listen to it anywhere and anytime I want,
like on the way to school and lining up to get some food.
It saved me a lot of time and I got a good grade in the final exam.

I don’t have to memorize tons of equations, formulas or functions,
or deal with reading assignments ,take annoying exams.
