The morning came when the alarm snail went off. Time to get up he thought! He was so
excited to see Melanie! He couldn’t wait. He was planning on asking her to marry him
today. At the Turtle Buffet after they were done swimming, he would put the ring in their
food. That was a good idea, especially since it was Christmas day. She won’t see it coming,
he thought. But oddly, something felt different. But what was it? He couldn’t tell. So he
jumped in the shower to shine, buff and clean his shell. That’s when he figured out what
was different! His shell! It was missing! What could have happened, he thought.
“Where is my shell? Where could it be? I know who took it! It was Todd. I knew he
wanted revenge for what I told him yesterday. He took it! I am so mad at him. He will pay!
He is so rude and mean. We will never be friends again after this. This was my special day
to ask Melanie to marry me, and he does this. He knew that I was going to ask her today.
Ugh! He will pay…big time.”
Greeny was so mad he could barley think. He was going to explode with anger. But he
knew what he had to do- he had to go do something mean to Todd now. Greeny thought
that he needed revenge. But he wondered if that would kill their friendship…but who
cared? “I’m not even sure if I really like Todd that much. So wouldn’t I want revenge? I
don’t care about him, and he obviously doesn’t care about me if he goes and does
something like this. We are never going to be friends again!”
So off he marched. He was going to go tell Todd off. But first he had to go through the
bushes, swim over the pond, go under some rocks, and finally he was at Todd’s house. He
knocked on the door, and Mrs. Toad answered. “Well good morning Greeny. What brings
you to our house so early in the morning? And my gosh! Where is your shell?”
“Your son stole it! He did! He really did! Because I said I didn’t like the necklace he was
wearing yesterday, he had to come steal my shell. Now I want it back!”
Well…I don’t think Todd stole your shell. He has been asleep all morning.”
“NO! Last night I heard a noise in my bedroom, I don’t know what time though. I know it
