Sergey Brin: Co-founder of Google
Sergey Brin was born in Russia and then immigrated to the United States. Brin earned an
undergraduate degree in mathematics and computer science from the University of Maryland. He
then acquired a Ph.D. degree from Stanford University. While attending Stanford University,
Brin met Larry Page, and together, they built a web search engine. They both decided to leave
their degrees and started making what is now known as Google. Its co-founders started Google in
a friend’s garage and financed by their friends, family, and a few investors. In 2004 both Brin
and Page became the youngest members in the list of Forbes 400 wealthiest people in the world.
Forbes list of 2017 had Brin as the 13th richest person in the world with an estimated net worth
of $38.2 billion. Before he became the president at Alphabet, Sergey Brin launched Google
Glass. This is a new and innovative way to get and share information. He is now also working on
self-driving cars.
