Time Management
Time management is a process that many people, including myself, struggle with. What
does it mean? Time management is being able to consciously control or plan how much time is
spent on various activities throughout the day. Having good time management skills is extremely
important for all aspects of life. If one cannot properly manage the various parts of their daily
schedules, it makes things much harder than then need to be and, in the long run, things won’t
get done. For example, let’s say hypothetically speaking, that I have an exam at the end of the
week. Instead of procrastinating until the last minute and cramming in a small study session the
night before the test, it would be much more practical to study a little each day to prepare for the
test. Not only would I have more exposure to the material, but if something comes up the night
before the test that renders me unable to study, I wouldn’t be prepared and my grade would
suffer as a result. In all, being able to efficiently divide up time for various activities/events is
something that comes with practice and age.
On weekends, my schedule frees up drastically but sometimes I don’t take advantage of
the open time frames. Instead of doing some work for class, or preparing for a test, I’ll watch tv
or hang with friends. However, both can be done. There is plenty of time during my weekends to
get school work done and still have time to watch tv or hang with friends or do whatever it is that
I plan on doing. I’m going to improve my time management by focusing on trying to evenly
