Young Thugs and Theories of Deviance
The documentary, “Thug Life in D.C.”, shows the real depiction of the society of youth
in Washington. The majority of the community are juvenile delinquents and are African-
American. According to the film, “in Washington, D.C. fifty-percent of young black men
between the ages of 18 and 35 are in jail or in prison, on probation, or parole, out on bond, or
wanted by the police” (Thug Life). The film focuses mainly on one inmate by the name of
