Essay Questions
1. The sacramental principle connects to the concept that everything in this world is always
good, and must be celebrated by everyone. If God really did create everything in the
universe, then everything surrounding us is truly ingrained with God’s pretentious love.
God’s love is the most valuable thing anyone on earth can ever desire, which means that
everything surrounding us is loved by God. The daily experiences, good and bad, that we
experience every single day as humans is a blessing. A famous quote is, “God gives his
toughest battles to his strongest soldiers”. God knows that we as humans have the ability
to be drawn away from the reality of our lives. It is so easy to get caught up in distraction,
that we lose the big picture idea. Society lives such busy lifestyles, that we seem to get
distracted from God’s blessings. The sacramental principle is a reminder to enjoy God’s
most precious, and celebrate our surroundings.
2. The concept of reality truly is a gift from God, because we did not create it, or have a say
in it. The question is, if humans didn't create this reality, then who did? The answer is

Himes explained how the sacraments that we experience as people, are truly loved by
God. Everything we see and experience around us is loved by God, since he bestowed his
creations upon us, and trusted us. Accordingly, society as a whole are sacramental people,

due to the sacraments being exposed to us at all times. The sacraments being constantly
shown, gives us a reminder of how much God loves, and truly cares for us. Although we
experience all this everlasting love, we can sort of become “numb” to God’s love, and
take his works for granted. That reason is why it is such an important topic that we as
humans need to remind ourselves what God is putting on the table for us, and how lucky
we are to have his blessings.
3. Distractions limit society from achieving their maximum potential. They keep us from
spending time with ourselves and truly learning who we are, and how God wants us to
incorporate him into our lives. People seem to get distracted by social media and our
phones. Society needs to learn the importance of dropping the technology and spending
time with God. We are given 24 hours in a day, and we can't be wasting them with
