Summary
Theo Chocolate was the first U.S. company that made organic and fair-trade chocolate
bars”. Recently, their name was on the news that questioned their fairness to their Seattle
workers. Theo Chocolate did not want their employees unionizing. After the news came out, the
founder Whinney had a lot of pressure. If he allowed them to unionize, the company may have to
raise their chocolate’s price and that this may have some disadvantages for the company. If he
doesn’t allow them to unionize, the company’s public image will drop and this may not match
the company’s culture.
