The Women’s Kingdom
Located east of the city of Shangri-La in southwest China is what is known as ‘Woman’s
Kingdom.’ This civilization does not accept many rules of China and acts as a matriarchy to its
society, interestingly as well it is one of the last matricidal societies left in China.
This society is interesting in a multitude of ways. The first of which are their
nontraditional views regarding marriage. They practice what is called a working marriage, which
