The Wheel
Sumerians offered the world many great innovations, but none can compare to
the wheeled vehicle. The wheel first started out on its side when Sumerians used it as a
device to make pottery since it was the best free spinning device available. From there
they got creative with the wheel and decided to turn it on its side to move larger objects
