people would enjoy more than Dolly Parton’s original.
In relation to our global context orientation in space and time I think that when Dolly Parton
wrote the song was during the period when men in general never used respect females and this
was the time where everybody wanted to be loved. Similarly, Whitney Huston’s version was
when everyone was respected by one another and no man would do anything to hurt a woman
and I think that this was the kind of respect Dolly Parton needed in her years. She needed
someone who was right for her.
Dolly Parton’s lyrics are sad in the sense that the person singing the song will always love the
person who the song is being sung to. The original version by Dolly Parton was a country ballad
which is basically sad and slow country music. In comparison to, Whitney Huston switched
things up by changing the song to a pop, soul, and adult contemporary hit.
