The Simplistic Masterpiece of Oddfuture.com
As a fan, I have chosen to evaluate the promotional website for the rap music collective
group, “Odd Future”, based in Southern California. The group is the epitome of teenage rebellion
and playful, unintended ignorance. The site features links to purchase their albums, touring dates,
a blog, links to videos, links to purchase band merchandise, and information about the “Camp
Flognaw” carnival they host every year in California. Odd Future is famously known for their
childish antics, and their promotion site undoubtedly represents this. Leader and star of the group
is rapper, Tyler the Creator. Tyler is known for designing most of Odd Future’s website and
clothing line. The rap collective has gained much popularity throughout the United States, the
United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. Ideals such as non-conformity, simplicity,
acceptance of all, and standing up for the nerd in school, are themes represented not only in their
music, but perfectly describes why their website is so popular to their teenage fan-base.
