The Scandalous Storm
One may think the setting of a story is a simple topic, but it is not as simple as some
think. The setting takes the reader to the place where the action happened and puts them in the
mindset of the characters. It will transform the reader into a new world, and the setting can really
make or break a story if not told correctly. In Kate Chopin’s The Storm she demonstrates how the
setting can illustrate how the weather, location and, time period can affect the characters actions.
This helps the reader better understand why characters are acting and feeling the way they are.
