The role of the entrepreneur in the circulation process of our economy
today
Does the businessman play an active role in the circulation process of the economy?
Today, the businessman is considered an important agent in the process of money circulation
in society. According to the theory of Richard Cantillon, who was one of the most successful
bankers in his time, he recognized that entrepreneurs had a central role in the circulation and
functioning of the economy.
Based a little on the contributions made by the economist Richard Cantillon in one of
his best-known texts called “Essay on the Nature of Commerce in General”, published in 1755.
This work was divided into three main themes, the first was the internal organization of the
economy, the second was money and internal monetary circulation, and the last one was foreign

Thus, in this work it is recognized that the entrepreneur is the person who buys farm
products at a certain price and then resells them wholesale at an uncertain price. According to
Richard, this was due to the fact that it was unknown whether the numbers of each family
increased or decreased, as well as the volume of their consumption and the product preferences
of each consumer.
