The Role of SaaS in Human Resource Management
When trying to understand the applications of Software as a Service (SaaS) it Is helpful to vet out
this vehicle used to deliver a very critical service. SaaS acts as a cohesive method offered by third party
vendors to connect two persons or entities. Popular examples of this are Netflix, Gmail, Dropbox, and
Slack. These tools are essential in maintaining productive and positive communication throughout an
organization. Slack for example, helps to direct ongoing tasks so that others within the organization can
keep track of individual task progress to avoid communication overlap and better manage the correct
flow of specific communications.
I am currently involved in a startup and one of my roles involves selecting the internal SaaS apps
that we will use to manage our current resources. In total there are four of us and we each spin multiple
plates at once. Disorganization could cause any one of those plates to fall at any point. We currently
share files through Dropbox, communicate through Outlook, and manage tasks using an app called
Producteev. Each of these forms of SaaS help our team stay on top of tasks and most importantly they
