The Right To Vote, Should Felons Be Afforded This Right!
The right to vote in today’s society is very important, it gives people the
freedom to make choices; on the way society should be governed. When the polls
open on Election Day, every citizen over the age of 18 will be able to cast a vote.
It is a right we take for granted, one that defines our nation as a democracy. The
right to vote was not just handed to everyone, people had to fight for it. Two
hundred years ago, you had to be white, male, and wealthy in order to vote. Today
almost everyone is afforded this right to vote, except prisoners. In the U.S. only
two States allow prisoners to vote Maine, and Vermont. All others states have strict
