“The Return of Martin Guerre” Book Analysis
Throughout history, there have always been some kind of hierarchical system that splits a
society. Usually they are divided up between the king and queen, then the nobles, then the Lords,
then the peasants. Everyone always assumes that peasants are the lowest of the low with nothing
but hard labor and low pay. Because they are poor, they are not able to read or write, which led to
not being able to truly understand the life of peasants. Most of their stories were told by word of
