Introduction
I choose The Pursuit of Happyness as my movie essay’s topic for the reason that I think
this movie has a deep meaning and watching this movie can motivate me to think
positively. I watched this movie when I got in the States for only a month, everything is
new to me and it was challenging that I have to keep balance on not only my courses but
also the GMAT Exam. At first, I missed my family in Taiwan so badly that I wanted to go
back soon, but after watching this movie, I changed my mind. I feel that I should cherish
every moment here and make good use of the time to not only be a hardworking student
but also be a playing hard student. There are lots of people in Taiwan that they wanted to
study abroad but due to some reasons that they couldn’t make it come true. I’m so lucky
that I could be here to learn and broaden my horizon to meet people from different
countries, learn under a different education system to improve myself. Although GMAT
Exam is hard and struggling, I told myself I can make it. The truth is that, after I changed
my thoughts from pessimistic to optimistic, I overcame GMAT and finally got a good
score. I think this movie is really encouraging, and we should always keep the concept that
the movie wants to convey in mind: The happiest people don't always own the best of
everything, but they always cherish everything that they own.

brokerage firm which is unpaid. With Linda gone and Chris and Christopher evicted from
their San Francisco apartment, they endure many hardships, sleeping in public toilets and
shelters, while Chris tries to finish his internship in the hope that he might be the one
intern hired by the firm after the internship ends, so he can build a better life for he and his
