1. Based on inanimate objects and how they defied daily routines for people. The author
comes to the conclusion of don’t rely on inanimate objects because they aren’t reliable.
2. His basis is having his paper go into categories and then slowly break down from there.
3. The purpose of the argument was to show that not everybody believes that inanimate
objects are the enemy of humans. It really isn’t that important to know which side is right
because it doesn’t have much to do with the story.
4. Baker subtly changes the subjects he is talking about. It is a very smooth transition and
you don’t notice when he is switching subjects. The first shift takes place at the beginning
of the story when he was changing from the introduction to the point of the paper.
