Introduction
Obesity is a fast growing problem in America for several years now and does not seem to
be slowing down anytime soon. Obesity is defined as the state of being well above one's normal
weight. (Obesity, 2012). The number of obese people in the United States is on the rise. There
are more people overweight in the United States than those who aren’t overweight and more than
half of those people are classified as being obese. On top of that early 1 in 5 children in are
overweight or obese. It has even been speculated that at the rate things are going that 99% of the
United States population will be overweight in a just a few decades. If that’s not alarming then I
don’t know what is. Several people have tried to come up with ways to slow down this epidemic,
but none have had success. In this paper I will be outlining why obesity is a problem. I will also
be sharing two ideas to minimize this problem that have already been thought up as well one of
