Studied Causes and Effects of Employee Silence in The Workplace
The purpose of this paper is to address what is employee silence and why it occurs, also
what happens in the work environment when employees are silent as well as how this silence
affects management. The results of this discussion will lead into proposed ideas on how to
encourage employee questions with the intentions of minimizing the antecedents of silence.
There are two basic forms of silence, which are further distinguished based on six different
concepts of silence antecedents (Chou & Chang, 2020). It should be the goal at every level in
any work environment to eliminate as many antecedents of silence as possible, so that employees
