“Please Please Me”
“Please Please Me” is John’s attempt at composing his own version of a Roy
Orbison song, trying to mimic his overly dramatic singing style. This is shown with
the pleading and begging he sings to a woman in the lyrics, with the call and
response “come on (come on), come on (come on), come on (come on), come on
(come on), please, please me whoa yeah, like I please you.” The entire song is one big
plea from John for his lover to reciprocate his feelings and please him the way he
