The mind body problem is an issue that has no clear answer, since
no one knows for sure what the relationship between the mind and the
body is, just theories. There is a mental realm that deals with our
thoughts, pain, emotions, sensations, and even beliefs. There is another
realm, called the physical realm. The physical realm deals with the
matter, neurons, and atoms that shoot o" information from our mental
realm to the physical realm. A simple thought of kicking a soccer ball
becomes a reality and our left extends out in a kicking motion.
Philosophers question if our mental realm actions just happen, or if the
actions happen because of the physical realm, or even if some of the
mental actions that happen are really just physical realm actions. Now
there is a question to be pondered and no answer if right or wrong. Are
humans simply organisms, or are humans have a soul. I could rather say a
soul, trapped inside a body while the body is in a living state.
Descartes’ position on the mind body problem was not taken as a
serious thought to him. He believed that the issue comes from false
points, and can’t be proven. He felt that if the body and the soul were two
things that are completely di"erent, than that di"erence alone is reason
enough to prevent the soul and the body to act on each other. His
