In the society, some people tend to follow the laws and obey orders. They will consider
everyone’s benefit. Thoughtful and sense of justice are the characteristics for this kind of
person. Others tend to break principles; they do not care others but themselves. Things
they first think of are money or profit. Self-centered, materialistic are the qualities for this
kind of person. It will be a problem that how does the latter get alone with others in life.
A person who is the latter one will struggle with the personal benefit and group benefit.
They will worry about their benefit and how important they are in a group. When whole
group are together, this kind of people will afraid that they will lose their profit. So it
would be hard for them to get along with others.
One of the roles in Animal Farm is Mollie. She is a selfish horse. All she cares about are
candy, sugar and eating. A lazy horse has a lots of excuses for being late or laziness. Some
of the excuses are hard to believe. For example, some incredible illness that she got. In the
story, one of the animals says that Mollie left the animal farm and became a horse of
carriage (George Orwell 1996).
