For the vast majority people today, information systems often play a key role in helping
to perform essential functions in and outside of the workplace. Some have even referred to the
period in time that we presently live in as the “Information Age”. There are numerous types of
information systems, as well as, applications and devices in which they can be deployed. In my
typical day to day activities, the systems that I use most frequently are electronic commerce,
knowledge management, office automation, collaboration, and social software systems. The
