The Indians Versus the California Missions
In my paper I will be addressing the question of whether the Spanish Mission
was beneficial for the Native Americans of California.
In section one I will be arguing yes, stating that the California missions
indeed beneficial for the Native Americans. I will be basing my argument on the
purposes of the missions, the way of life in the missions and eventually the end
result of the missions. I will be presenting points such as the poor living situation
the Native Americans had to live with before the Spanish arrival, the considerate,
kind and selfless character of the Spaniards in the missions, the prosperous and
indulgent lives the Indians had in the missions and the intellectual, agricultural and
