Economics is everywhere and is used in everyday life. The two topics I have chosen to
discuss are utility maximization and health care. These topics are very practical and can be used
in a person’s life every day. Utility maximization is the idea that people are constantly trying to
maximize their utility by purchasing goods for the least amount of money. As a consumer like
everyone else, understanding what really can maximize my utility is important when making
decisions on what product to buy. Health care is also a very important topic and one that is
always being discussed in this country. One day I’m going to ask myself “how can I get the most
amount of health care for my budget?” or “what kind of health care is suitable for me?” As we go
forward and learn more about these economic topics we will see how relevant they are in
everyday life.
