The History of Masonry
Masonry dates back to 1717, beginning in England. England is also where the first
Masonic Lodge was founded, known as the Grand Lodge. Although Masonry most likely started
before the dated time, this is when freemasonry was known to have flourished through the
British Empire. The United States first Masonic Lodge was not established until 1730 in
Philadelphia. Masonic Lodge’s are where the fraternity meets together and is built to look like a
temple. Masonry is when one builds with stone, clay, brick, or concrete blocks. A Mason or a
