When you are faced with the brim truth of reality, one option you can take is to censor it in order
to protect yourself or others. One of these books that was withheld from the grasps of students was The
Hate U Give.
It follows the life of a girl named Starr who experiences the loss of her best friend at the
hands of a cop which sparks a fire within her to join the protest for racial justice. The banning of the book
alike sparked petitions against the restriction of the novel because of its vulgar and sexually explicit
