Truman’s Decision Essay
The second world war 2 is widely known as the “Good War”. This war brought
some of the most devastating and deadliest events. World War 2 was a fight against
Nazism and Fascism, and in the end capitalism. Many lives were taken. Soldiers and
civilians were killed, and many starved. This was the deadliest war that has ever
occured. During this war, America introduced the atomic bomb, which became the
deadliest weapon. In my opinion, the second world war was not a “Good War” afterall
due to all the devastating and deadly events.
World War 2 shouldn’t have been called the “Good War” because it caused a
tremendous amount of deaths. Aside from the soldiers, many citizens were killed.
During this time the “chancellor” of Germany, Adolf Hitler, served as a leader of the Nazi
Party. He controlled the country through a dictatorship where Germany ended up
turning into a totalitarian state. He created concentration camps to place humans the
Germans deemed “inferior” into these camps. These people were tricked into thinking
they were being ‘protected” or used for Germany’s benefit in the war, when really they
were being used as slaves. Once they lost their usefulness, they were disposed of into
gas chambers like slaughtering animals. The men were killed first to lower any risk of
