This book really surprised me because of the fact that it is really interesting
and appealing. I found that it is very useful for someone who either wants to
work as a manager of a company or someone who wants to manage their
own business. There are so many things that someone can take from this
book and prosper from it.
The way the character goes through his daily life and talks about
every little detail made me realize how hard yet interesting having the
responsibility of being a manager in today’s world really is. It would be
really helpful if one of my professors would be able to mentor me as I am
progressing throughout my career. If it wasn’t for his professor, he wouldn’t
have learned much of what he knows. From waking up at 6 in the morning
to getting home at 9, is a bunch of work and he has his hands full. It’s
unfortunate because his job takes up so much time away from his children
and wife. I kind of question myself on this thought but I kind of want to
admire him for having work on his mind all the time. But at the same time,
having work on your mind leads to not paying any attention to anything else.
Like when he took his son for that camping trip, his mind kept going on and
on about the spacing between the scouts. Then later, at work, he used what
he learned at the camping trip and applied it towards the problem at work.

This book paints a great picture about what to expect when I enter the
corporate world. It also helps me realize what I need to do so that if I had
my own business or was a manager of a corporation, I would not fail. After
reading this book, it makes you want to help the guy out with his company
by implementing some ideas the book has provided. The want to improve
my own business is overwhelming as I continue to read the book and hear
the problems that arise. There are always ways to get the job done better
and more efficiently.
