Abstract
This research paper is conducted through the personal ambition of the author. With a
desire to gain a better understanding of the world around him, through examining the past that
has brought the world to where he stands.
Research dives into the founding of undoubtably one of the most powerful modern
nations of the world. The founding of each of the original 13 colonies by different European
colonizers across the Atlantic Ocean and how in the end they become unified under the rule of
the British crown. Great Britain ruled the colonies until the American Revolution of 1765, when
the Americans sever the rule of Great Britain and become a newly formed country of their own.
The United States of America has played a critical role in the course of historical events,
becoming the first country in the world to embrace the true ideas of the Age of Enlightenment;
being equality, freedom, and liberty.
Introduction
The United States of America is known today as one of, if not the, most impactful
countries in the realm of international relations. Originating as a band of colonies under the rule
of arguably the most powerful nation at the time; Great Britain. However, many may not know
of the true humble beginnings of the future nation. The colonies were taken advantage of for
their wealth, agriculture, and people. The Original 13 colonies of the United States begin with
